Meet Dr. Eric Roy.
Eric founded Hydroviv in 2015 to address high levels of lead pollution at the outset of the Flint Water Crisis. His idea for customized water filtration has since impacted the lives of 100,000 customers and counting.

Eric has spent his career solving problems most people never even think about.
Before Hydroviv, he built advanced chemical detection technologies and trained first responders to use them in the field. Today, he brings that same expertise to designing Hydroviv’s customized water filters—so families can get safer, cleaner water throughout their home.

At the beginning of the Flint Water Crisis, many well-intentioned donors provided Flint residents with generic water filters. But Eric knew these one-size-fits-all filters couldn’t sufficiently address the disproportionally high levels of lead in Flint’s water. A long-term, science-backed solution was critically necessary.
From this need, Hydroviv was born.
For our first five years in operation, hundreds of individuals in areas with low water quality, including Flint, Newark, Houston, and New York City, received free filters through an ongoing partnership with Little Miss Flint. And in 2019, that partnership resulted in the Clean Water Fund, which has raised over $1 million for Flint residents to date.
